Request for Bids for Shoal Maintenance Project Construction
Contractors are invited to submit sealed bids to the City of Isle of Palms for excavation, hauling, placement, and grading up to 90,000 cubic yards (60,000 cubic yards of Base Bid plus up to 30,000 cubic yards of Alternate Bid) along 2,200 linear feet (borrow area) and 1,400 linear feet (fill area) of beach at the northeast end of Isle of Palms as identified in the Plans and Specifications. Substantial completion required by 25 April 2012 with final completion by 30 April 2012.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting at the Wild Dunes Property Owners Beach House (6600 Palmetto Drive, Isle of Palms, SC 29451) will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, 9 February 2012. Site visit will follow after the meeting. For access to the site before the pre-bid conference, call Pearl Mazyck at 843-886-8847. 

Sealed bids will be received at City of Isle of Palms, City Hall (c/o Linda Lovvorn Tucker, City Administrator, City of Isle of Palms, PO Drawer 508, Isle of Palms, SC 29451) until 10:00 a.m. on Friday, 17 February 2012, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at City Hall council chambers (street address 1207 Palm Blvd, Isle of Palms, SC 29451, 843-866-6428).

From the date of this advertisement until the date of opening of the bids, Contract Documents, including Plans and Specifications can be obtained from Coastal Science & Engineering (CSE), 160 Gills Creek Parkway, Columbia SC 29209, for a non-refundable cost of $100.  Contact Diana Sangster or Steven Traynum at (803) 799-8949, fax (803) 799-9481, to obtain plans.
