Standing Committees
Council reviewed the minutes from each of the relevant committee meetings
- City Council approved a change order in the amount of $228,505.69 to Salmon’s Dredging for the construction of the marina fuel hut, re-engineered fuel hut support flotation, and other modifications to the fuel dock required for the marina dock rehabilitation project
- City Council did NOT approve consideration of an amount not to exceed $10,000 for the development of engineered plans for building permit approvals for the marina fuel hut
- City Council approved the 2021 LOWVELO Bike Ride as a City Sponsored event.
- City Council approved the design of the Marina Restaurant, further information on this can be found on the Marina Restaurant project page here.
Ordinances
Second Reading
- City Council heard and approved second reading of Ordinance 2020-16 which allows for commercial surf instruction on the beach under specific guidelines and after obtaining a business license and permission from City Council.
Emergency Ordinance
- City Council approved Emergency Ordinance 2021-02 which extended the City's COVID-19 response protocol for 60 days from the expiration of Emergency Ordinance 2021-01
First Reading
- City Council held first reading of Ordinance 2021-03 which alters the way Water and Sewer Commissioners register to run for office by removing the petition requirement.
Miscellaneous Business
- City Council approved a motion "affirming the current 2015 Parking Plan and subsequent amendments" while "we continue to work with SCDOT to optimize available beach parking.”
