Consent Agenda

  • City Council approved the following items via consent agenda:
    • Consideration of proposal from Salmons Dredging for the removal and disposalof pile laying on seafloor adjacent to dock C in the amount of $17,230
    • Consideration of recommendation from the Public Safety Committee of purchase of a 2021 Ford Ranger in the amount not to exceed $35,000 [State contract base price $22,253] for the Fire Inspector
    • Consideration of recommendation from the Public Works Committee of award of a contract in the amount of $18,850 to Truluck Construction, Inc. to install drainage infrastructure and grading to address drainage issue at the intersection of 34th and Hartnett Boulevard
    • Minutes of previous meetings

Standing Committees

Council reviewed the minutes from each of the relevant committee meetings

  • City Council approved a recommendation from the Ways and Means committee to approve marina parking lot improvements in an amount not to exceed $60,000 per the marina restaurant lease
  • Council approved a recommendation from the Public Safety committee to engage in an assistance and support agreement with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office
  • City Council approved a recommendation from the Public Works committee for the formation of an Environmental Advisory Committee consisting of seven (7) adult citizens, one (1) college student, one (1) high school student, and a City Council liaison.
  • City Council appointed Ted McKnight to the Board of Zoning Appeals
  • City Council deferred action on a noise agreement between Marker 116, LLC and the City of Isle of Palms

Ordinances

Second Reading

  • City Council approved the FY22 budget at second reading after a public hearing. Details of the budget as approved can be found here.
  • City Council approved second reading of the business license standardization ordinance, Ordinance 2021-06.

Resolution

  • City Council did not approve a resolution encouraging unvaccinated people to use face coverings in public indoor areas within the limits of the City of Isle of Palms.

Miscellaneous Business

  • City Council approved an application for commercial surf instruction permission from Kai Dilling.
  • City Council issued city sanctioned event status for a Darius Rucker concert at the Windjammer on June 9, 2021
