Damaged Power Pole at 45th Avenue & Palm Boulevard

SCE&G power pole was struck by a vehicle in the area of Palm Boulevard and 45th Avenue. The pole is leaning severely with power lines arching. Isle of Palms Police Department has shut down traffic at Palm Boulevard & 45th Avenue due to the potential danger to motorists and pedestrians.

SCE&G electrical operations team is on site conducting repairs.

Approximately 1,900 Isle of Palms customers will be without power from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. today, October 9, 2018, while the SCE&G crews make repairs. The area includes 42nd Avenue to the NE tip of the island, including most of Wild Dunes, Dewees, Capers & Bulls Islands.

Palm Boulevard at 41st Avenue will remain closed to the public during repairs.
