Standing Committees

  • City Council approved an award of a contract to Applied Technology Management (ATM) in the amount of $62,000 for the design, engineering and permitting of the IOP Marina docks rehabilitation project. ATM will develop a prioritization and phased plan with recommendations for repair or replacement of the marina docks, prepare and submit the required state and federal permit applications and develop plans, specifications and bid documents for the gangway, floating docks and marine utility systems on the fuel dock.
  • City Council approved an award of a contract to Circle H Land Services in an amount of $16,610 to supply, plant and fertilize dune vegetation in the beach nourishment project area.
  • City Council approved an amount not to exceed $13,000 to American Dock and Marine to replace missing or damaged floats under several docks at the IOP Marina.
  • City Council approved the purchase of a Mack Flatbed Truck and Mack Garbage Packer Truck for the Public Works Department. These vehicles will replace vehicles purchased in 2002.
  • City Council approved an amount not to exceed $15,000 for the rental of a mobile office trailer to relocate administrative Fire Department personnel in preparation of the Public Safety Building repairs.
  • City Council approved a recommendation from the Public Safety Committee to change the rules regulating the use of the Visitor Parking Permit to allow them to be used multiple times during the year they are issued. Also, Council agreed to provide residents two (2) Visitor Parking Permit booklets per household per year at no charge.
  • City Council approved a recommendation from the Public Safety Committee to direct the City Attorney to draft the necessary amendments to the Code to require proof of current rabies inoculation and require non-residents who bring their dogs within the City limits to register for a dog permit with the Police Department by showing proof of inoculation and paying a $10 fee.

Ordinances

oRDINANCE 2018.13 – impervious surfaces & storm water plans

City Council passed second reading of an ordinance that requires a storm water plan for every new building construction that disturbs 625 square feet or more in area, establishes a limit on how much fill can be added to a lot at one (1) foot above the roadway and establishes a new definition for impervious surface as any surface through which water cannot be absorbed at a minimum infiltration rate of 2.0 inches per hour.
