Special City Council Meeting and Public Hearing

City Council met today, Friday May 29, 2020, to hold second reading for Ordinance 2020-02 which is titled "an ordinance to establish the daily parking fee for the Municipal Parking Lots to $10 Monday through Friday and $15 Saturday, Sunday and legal holidays and the hourly fee to park on-street on Ocean Boulevard between 10th and 14th Avenues to $2.50 and to double the parking violation fines."

The council voted unanimously to approve the ordinance which takes effect Saturday May 30, 2020. The full details of the changes are as follows:

New Fines:

The fine for parking in violation of any regulation related to paid parking spaces, parking pay stations or kiosks along the public streets or in the public parking lots has been increased to $50.00

The fine for parking in violation of loading zone regulations has been increased to $200.00

The fine for parking in violation of any other parking regulation has been increased to $100.00

Changes to Municipal Parking Lot and Ocean Boulevard Parking Fees:

The daily parking fee is now $10.00 Monday through Friday and $15.00 on Saturday, Sunday and legal holidays.

The hourly fee to park on-street on Ocean Boulevard between 10th and 14th Avenue is now $2.50.
