Desiree Fragoso was appointed to the position of City Administrator in May 2019. She manages six departments, 102 employees and a $27 million annual budget. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Fragoso served as Assistant City Administrator for four years.
Prior to joining the City of Isle of Palms, Ms. Fragoso worked in Washington, DC serving in the City of San Juan’s Federal Affairs office advancing and implementing the mayor’s public policy agenda.
Ms. Fragoso holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and psychology from the University of Puerto Rico and master’s degree in public administration from the College of Charleston.
Ms. Fragoso is a board member of the Municipal Association of South Carolina, the College of Charleston MPA Advisory Committee, and the Charleston County Community Development Advisory Board. She is a member of the International City and County Management Association, the South Carolina City and County Management Association, the American Society for Public Administration and the South Carolina Beach Advocates.
