Tae Kwon Do

Develop balance, accuracy, speed, power, focus, self-confidence and flexibility. Training includes stretching, mild running, forms, 3 step sparring, freestyle non-contact sparring and self defense techniques.

Core Strength & Body Works

Yin Yoga 

Slow Flow Yoga:  Yin Yoga targets deep connective tissues through holding poses for 3-5 minutes. Acupressure versus acupuncture. These long holds promote cell rejuvenation while decreasing tension and restoring balance to our very YANG lives. Think: Deep Tissue Massage. Beginner Friendly but Challenging. Benefits: Unlimited.

Work strengthening muscles, tightening core, flexibility and balance. Open to all exercise levels. Must be able to exercise on the floor.

Strength & Stability

Active older adults workout consisting of cardiovascular warm up with dynamic structing. Workouts  vary in exercises weekly but always include strength training and stability training. Class ends with core work and static stretching. Class formerly know as FitBody in 50, same great class just new name!

Wild Roll Wednesday 

The Isle of Palms Fire Department, Police Department and Recreation Department will team up to host a new group fitness class. Each week will feature a different instructor from a different department that will provide a unique, tailored and targeted workout that is adaptive to all fitness levels.

Join the Isle of Palms Recreation Center and Susan Boruff for group meditation. Bring yoga mat, beach towel, beach or camping chair. Outdoor Meditation:  Group will meet on the multi purpose field under the trees. Bad weather days the group will meet in the Recreation Center.

Pickleball  Social League

Register online or in person by February 17th. Six week league, games played on Friday mornings starting March 3rd from 9:00am-10:30am.

$10 per person, doubles play, players form teams, rotate around and play.

Pickleball nets will be used for league play, players must provide their own paddles.

Everyone has a story, first car, first job, first love and some things that were significant without being the first. Write down your memories so your children/ grandchildren know more about your life. Each class includes instruction. examples and writing exercises. Discover how to uncover memories, organize ideas and make your story interesting.
