Council Approves New Committee Assignments for 2021 & Appoints New Officers

On a Special City Council Meeting held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, City Council approved new membership for the City's Standing Committees for 2021 and appointed new members to the City's Boards and Commissions. 

The makeup of the Standing Committees for 2021 will be as follows : 

Public Safety Committee

  • Jimmy Ward
  • Phillip Pounds 
  • Randy Bell 

Public Works Committee

  • Rusty Streetman
  • Susan Hill Smith 
  • Jimmy Ward 

Recreation Committee

  • Susan Hill Smith 
  • Ryan Buckhannon
  • Phillip Pounds 

Personnel Committee

  • John Moye
  • Ryan Buckhannon 
  • Randy Bell

Real Property Committee 

  • Kevin Popson
  • Rusty Streetman 
  • John Moye

Ways and Means - This Committee is made up of all members of City Council. 

City Council also appointed David Cohen, Steven Corney and Sandy Stone to serve two-year terms in the Planning Commission. Ray Burns, Julise Spell and Douglas Truslow were appointed to serve three-year terms in the Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee and Brian Able was appointed to serve a three-year term in the Board of Zoning Appeals.
