Camp Summershine

Camp Summershine offers a variety of fun and interactive opportunities including arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor activities, beach trips, and field trips. Children need to bring lunch; snacks are provided.

  • 2019 Camp Registration Form.  Complete form and bring with you to registration. 
  • Recreation Center opens and registration will start at 7:00am.
  • Must provide birth certificate to verify participants age.
  • New to the Island? Must bring proof of residency.

Facts You Should Know About Camp

  • Camp begins at 9:00am SHARP!
  • Parents must sign campers in & out daily.
  • Permission forms must be completed weekly if someone other than a parent is picking up campers.
  • Remaining Balance for each week is DUE the Monday of that week.
  • Camp Summershine provides supervision from 8:30am to 3:30pm.
  • There is a $10.00 late fee each day your child is not picked up on time.
  • Registration Deposits are Non-Refundable and Non-Transferable.
  • Children should not bring toys to camp.
  • Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Camp Calendar will include information for items that you send with your child to camp. If in doubt, send your child to camp wearing a bathing suit, sunscreen and with a towel.
  • Apply Sunscreen to your child EVERY MORNING!!!
  • Camp Counselors will only be allowed to apply Sunscreen that you supply.
  • Campers are required to wear their Camp Summershine T-Shirt.  It is important that your child is easy to recognize.
  • Please send your child to camp with a bag lunch everyday, unless it is a field trip day.
  • Campers are given one snack during the day. Refreshments and water are available throughout the day.
  • Counselors will handle all lunch money for field trips and will collect at the beginning of camp.
  • Please make Recreation Staff aware of any allergies or special needs your child has when you register.

Wee Camp gives participants a chance to socialize and interact with others while enjoying opportunities such as arts and crafts, games, outdoor activities and wet and wild days. Children need to bring lunch; snacks are provided.

Youth Rising Stars Basketball Camp (5-9 yrs)   * Registration Now Open

Camp is based around the Super Six Self Improvement Stations. Camp will be supervised by certified coaches and college players. Campers will receive a camp t-shirt and basketball. Full day campers will need to provide lunch. FRIDAY June 14th is HALF DAY for ALL participants, pick up at NOON.

Volleyball Camp

Girls Volleyball Camp (10-15 Yrs)

Camp is designed to develop the fundamental skills of volleyball. Girls will receive a camp t - shirt. Space is limited to 25 participants.

Get Your Spike On (10-16 yrs)       * CAMP FULL as of 6/21/19

Gear up for the indoor volleyball season with this four day clinic that will surely improve your volleyball skills. Drills, scrimmages, intense workouts and a lot of fun playing the sport we love. Space is limited to 25 participants.

Acting Camp


"Midsummer Night's Dream" Acting camp (Ages 8 - 13yrs)    *Registration Now Open 

Shakespeare’s magical play gets an original twist in this humorous version. There’s an enchanted forest, fairies, and one poor
dude with a donkey’s head.Your child will audition, rehearse and at the end, perform in a short play for family and friends.

Tennis Camps 

Intermediate/Advance Red Ball Clinic:   *Registration OPens - Wednesday, March 13

Tiny Tennis Clinic Prerequisite: Players MUST be 5 years old and able to rally back and forth. 
Players must have prior tennis experience with basic knowledge of various shots in tennis, forehand, volley etc. Participants need to provide lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, tennis shoes and tennis racket. 

July 15 - July 19

Intermediate/Advance Orange/Green Ball Clinic:  * Registration OPens - Wednesday, March 13

Clinic Prerequisite: Players MUST have the ability to rally back and forth on a 60ft court.
There will be a transition to green dot balls during the week with the hopes players will play full court by the end of the week. Players must have prior tennis experience with basic knowledge of various shots in tennis, forehand, backhand, volley etc. Participants need to provide lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, tennis shoes and racket.
