Palmetto Priority

The State of South Carolina has recently established a new initiative called Palmetto Priority. The goal of the program is to help restaurants re-open safely and effectively during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program includes training courses and SC Department of Health and Environmental Control safety checks. Participants who agree to the re-opening guidelines and achieve certification through the program will be mailed a sticker to place on their door or window signifying their participation in the program. The City of Isle of Palms is encouraging restaurants on the island to participate in this program. Further information about the program can be found at this link: https://palmettopriority.com/

Additionally, citizens frequenting South Carolina restaurants may provide feedback about their dining experiences on the site. This feedback includes information about whether or not staff were wearing masks and if the restaurant adhered to social distancing guidelines, among other items.

Everyone plays a vital role in protecting themselves, others and reducing and slowing the transmission of COVID-19.
