12/8/2025- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has contracted Cottrell to dredge the Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway (AIWW) in vicinity of a shoal in breach inlet and place the sand along the Isle of Palms beach between 6th and 9th Avenues.
The USACE anticipates Cotrell to begin as early as January 2026 with 24/7 operation. The original engineering plans state Cottrell will be on site for 32 days from February 15 to March 19, possibly overlapping with the final few days of the sediment rehandling project managed by Ahtna.
