1/6/2026 - Ahtna continues its sediment rehandling project, placing sand between 5th and 6th Avenues and periodically moving north up the beach.
The current condition of the area between 2nd and 5th Avenue is better than at any point in the past two years, with nearly 100 ft of dry-sand seaward of the dune line.
Ahtna is completing rehandling from its first containment cell and is beginning work on the second.
