New Partnership Aims to Improve Pet Waste Management

The Isle of Palms Police Department is pleased to announce a new partnership with DoodyCalls Charleston, a professional pet waste management service, to manage and service the dog waste stations located throughout the city.

Proper disposal of pet waste is more than a courtesy—it’s essential for protecting the environment and public health. Pet waste left on the ground can wash into storm drains and local waterways, polluting our beaches and harming marine life. It can also spread harmful bacteria and parasites, putting both people and pets at risk.

Per City of Isle of Palms Ordinance Sec. 6-2-6, pet owners are required to clean up after their animals. To support compliance and community cleanliness, the city provides dog waste bags at designated stations throughout the island.

This partnership will ensure that all dog waste stations are regularly stocked with bags and kept clean and operational, helping residents and visitors do their part in keeping Isle of Palms beautiful.

IOPPD asks all pet owners to do their part by using the provided bags and disposing of waste properly in designated receptacles. Together, we can continue to make Isle of Palms a clean, healthy and enjoyable place for everyone.
