Standing Committees
- City Council unanimously approved keeping the City's millage rate at the current rate of $24.70 per $1,000 of assessed value, which is sufficient to produce tax revenue needed for the budget. The City of Isle of Palms has not raised property taxes since tax year 2015.
- City Council rejected the Morgan Creek Grill Restaurant proposed lease extension and, to ensure fairness and open competition, decided to use the request for proposals method to obtain proposals for the lease of the Isle of Palms Marina restaurant. The existing Morgan Creek Grill Restaurant lease expires in October 2020.
- In accordance with the City's Procurement Code, City Council approved a sole source contract to Coastal Science and Engineering in the amount of $118,000 to conduct post-project monitoring and surveying activities associated with the 2018 beach nourishment project, as required by the permitting agencies.
- City Council approved up to $11,000 for the 2018 Employee Appreciation Event, a special event to celebrate and recognize the City's team members.
- City Council approved hiring McCay Kiddy & Associates to perform selected procedures on the financial records of the Isle of Palms Marina tenants.
- City Council approved a recommendation from the Personnel Committee to use the request for proposals method to obtain proposals for the City Attorney and Assistant City Attorney positions to be appointed in January 2019.

City Council approved first reading of an ordinance amending title 8, chapter 2 of the Code to change the visitor daily parking passes to annual, multi-use passes and allow two (2) free visitor pass booklets per household per year. This ordinance will go before City Council for second reading and ratification at the next Council meeting on October 23, 2018.
