Update - February 2026
All permits are in hand. Next steps are to determine where spoils material will be placed and request bids. ATM and the Canal Association on Goat Island are in discussions. At last report, the Canal Association was waiting on USACE to determine what additional work was necessary to the spoils area before they can begin accepting materials. Council must decide whether to wait on permits from nearby property owners and collaborate or proceed sooner without collaboration.

- All permits are in hand. Next steps are to determine where spoils material will be placed and request bids. Intended spoils area is Goat Island, but the area needs to be repaired to meet USACE requirements.
- ATM and the Goat Island association in charge of the area are in discussions.
Update - July 2025
- In June, the City received the permit from the SC DES, but still has not received a permit from USACE.

- ATM responded to comments and provided sediment testing results to USACE in April.

Several comments were received in the Federal permit process and responses are being prepared to resubmittal the week of April 7th.

Federal permit applications are out for public comment. Will respond to any comments that are received.
